On April 11th and 12th, 2026, it's that time again and VELOBerlin is taking place at Tempelhof Airport. We're using this opportunity for our Coffee & Cake Ride to go there together. We'll meet at 10:30 AM at the store in Adlershof and depart promptly at 11:00 AM. We'll be taking a leisurely BER loop. This means we won't leave anyone behind and will adapt to the group's pace.
When we arrive at VELOBerlin, a warm cup of coffee is already waiting for us. There is also discounted entry for all those who have taken part.

Road and gravel bikes are permitted. Triathlon and time trial bikes, as well as bikes with aerobars, are not allowed for safety reasons.
We recommend you bring appropriate clothing, light, snacks, and full water bottles.
Road safety is a top priority. The Road Traffic Regulations and StVZO (Road Traffic Licensing Regulations) are being adhered to. No helmet, no ride!

The RYZON community is calling! 🚴♂️ We start at 09:00 at the Brandenburg Gate and roll for about 100 km in a relaxed loop towards the southwest and then come back to Berlin from the south. The aim is to finish the tour together at the VELO Berlin - with a good atmosphere, exciting impressions and lots of bike community. Berlin stops. Not with a sign, not with an announcement—the wall path once again marks the old border, then comes the Teltow Canal, and beyond that it is quiet.
It's not a bad way to start: a route that begins where Europe was once divided, and then heads out into a country that never cared about that division. Stahnsdorf. Güterfelde. Nudow. Places that don't matter in the city that, thirty kilometers to the north, organizes and claims and accelerates everything. The roads get wider, the distances between things grow. Near Rangsdorf, at kilometer 31, the city is as far away as it will be that day. You don't notice it on the horizon – you notice it because your mind stops managing things.
Then the route turns east. Königs Wusterhausen, the Dahme. A river, the first moment where the route stops moving away and starts to return. On the way back north, the route passes Tempelhof – the airport that in 1948 was not a border, but a connection. Today, the tarmac is a park. The city rarely wears its history as a backdrop – mostly, it just gets in the way.
At the end, Markus Weinberg will be waiting at Velo Berlin. The filmmaker and journalist from Dresden developed and rode the European Connection Trail – from Nordkapp to Southern Spain, through wild Scandinavia, densely populated Central Europe, and desolate Central Spain. A route as an argument: that Europe connects those who cross it by bike. On Sunday, he will speak twice: 1:00 PM Live Interview, 3:00 PM Talk, both in the VELOSalon. Anyone who was at Borean Adventures Berlin '24 already knows why he's been invited again.
We ride at an average pace of about 20 km/h. If needed, we'll form multiple speed groups.

Participation in the ride itself is free, the regular day ticket price for Velo Berlin is €12 (advance booking). The group price applies to all participants: €7. A coffee voucher will be provided upon arrival at the Adventure Area.
Hospital admission
Bikes can be taken to the grounds. Each bike will receive a numbered wristband that matches the owner's arm – no bike will leave the grounds without its rider. A small lock is still recommended. Park and lock together in the Adventure Area.

3,700 m² of bumpy and slippery cobblestones - Hufelandstraße used to be a challenge for cyclists. Despite the historic building fabric, the road was hardly inviting for cycling, with many people taking to the sidewalk. Now that the cobblestones have been removed, the 600-metre-long road has a comfortable cycle connection. The infraVelo project team provides insights into the innovative grinding process and presents the initial results of the ongoing accompanying study. The project shows how the mobility transition can be advanced in Berlin.

Since 1982, the Race Across America (RAAM) has been considered one of the toughest challenges in ultra-cycling. The race covers around 4,800 kilometers across the USA - from the west coast to the east coast. Extreme heat, icy cold, sleep deprivation and more than 52,000 meters of altitude demand everything from the riders. Only around 25 solo athletes start each year - many do not reach the finish within the 12-day time limit.
Claus-Henning Schulke from Berlin is one of the few athletes in the world to take on this extreme challenge. Filmmaker Alex Hüfner accompanied him and his team on the RAAM 2024. The film shows the relentless competition against time, exhaustion and his own limits - a race that demands everything. Schulke wants to take on this challenge for the third time in 2026.
Followed by a discussion with ultra-cyclist Claus-Henning Schulke and filmmaker Alex Hüfner. The film will be shown in German with English subtitles.

Salber Lee Williams is an artist, poet and founder of This Is Joy Bro. Through spoken word, film and community building, she explores joy not as an escape from reality, but as a means of resistance and understanding that we are so deeply connected to everything. In this performance, accompanied by an audiovisual installation, she captures the experience of cycling through Berlin. The rhythm and the unexpected (and fleeting) moments when everything just seems to fall into place. A meditation on movement and presence and what it means to be fully alive on a bicycle.

Since Annemiek van Vleuten burst onto the scene 14 years ago, women's cycling has changed forever. Annemiek's palmarès makes her one of the best athletes of her generation. After signing with Movistar and switching to Canyon bikes in 2021, she made history by winning the Tour de France Femmes, the Giro Donne and the Vuelta Femenina, as well as the time trial at the Olympic Games and the Road World Championships. Sonja has actually always been cycling - she used to simply cycle from A to B: to school, to ride, to work. It only became sporty in 2023/24 when she had to give up jogging due to osteoarthritis. A colleague introduced Sonja to the Mecklenburger Seerunde 300 - since then, it's hard to imagine life without racing bikes and gravel. After many accidents in city traffic and a serious truck accident in 2006, safety is a key issue for the presenter and podcaster. Today, cycling is sport, processing and the center of her life - even after the tragic road death of her father in 2025.
Sonja Koppitz talks about her love and challenges of cycling in a live interview on April 12 at 11:30 a.m. in the FluxFM Bicycle Forum.

7,000 km, 14 countries, one gravel bike: Markus Weinberg follows the "European Connection Trail" to find Europe's real, conciliatory stories - in the wild north, in dense Central Europe, in quiet Spain. An adventure about freedom and connection in the saddle.
At VELOBerlin, Markus will be presenting the best pictures and videos of his trip in his travel talk, answering questions in the FluxFM bike forum and also showing the 30-minute version of his European Connection film in the VELOKino on Saturday evening.

In this short talk, ORBIT360 and The Generation Forest show why the outdoor and cycling scene has a special responsibility not only to use nature, but also to actively protect it.
We talk about the reality of climate change, deforestation and species extinction and why traditional solutions are often not enough. We then present The Generation Forest, a community-based model for regenerative forests that protects biodiversity, binds CO₂ and creates long-term prospects for people and nature.
The central question is: How can a community that loves nature also become part of its restoration?

What is a wheel race?

The aim of the "Fahrrad Berlin" award is to make the diverse commitment of Berlin's cycling community and the work of the districts more visible. The award-winning projects should serve as examples and role models and motivate further action.

At the big bike festival for everyone, we place particular emphasis on kids and young people - those who will soon be changing the way we get around. Test bikes, practise riding technique and BMX skills, marvel at thrilling shows by professional bikers, gain your first competitive experience in children's and running bike races, join in and sing along with Lasca Fox and our children's musician Lars Feuerstein and, of course, get plenty of exercise on the bungee trampoline and bouncy castle: the aim is to get them excited about bikes with fun and games. And parents: there's plenty for you to experience between the coffee bike and cargo bike tests.

Two days × two races = one prize. The 8bar LAST ONE STANDING and the 8bar CRIT 2026 will take place on April 11-12, 2026 during the VELO Berlin Bike Show. For the 8bar LAST ONE STANDING on Saturday, we have designed a 450m course that is both intense and technical. Tight corners combined with fast straights keep the pressure high from the first lap to the last rider. It's not just about power, but also about bike handling and race strategy.
On Sunday we bring back our legendary 8bar CRIT. The race will be split into a Party Race and a Fast Race. Both races will last 25 minutes plus an additional 10 laps. Lapped riders will be taken out of the race.
The track is velodrome-shaped and 300 m long - fast, direct and built for pure speed.
